This summary is provided for convenience only. It does not replace the full Terms below, which remain legally binding.

  • Acordle is for personal, non-commercial use.
  • Some features require an account, including cloud sync, leaderboards, Free Practice access, push notifications, and Full Version entitlement recovery.
  • If you create or publish a shared game or ranking link, the resulting page is public and may be viewed, shared, or indexed by search engines.
  • You must not cheat, abuse the service, interfere with rankings, or attempt unauthorized access to Acordle systems.
  • Acordle currently offers a one-time non-consumable in-app purchase called Full Version. It is not a subscription.
  • If you delete your account, most private account data is removed, but certain records may be retained to preserve rankings, purchase integrity, and service continuity.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Acordle ("Acordle", "we", "our", or "the app"). By downloading, installing, or using Acordle, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the app.

2. Who We Are

Acordle is an educational mobile app designed to help users learn and memorize guitar chords through gameplay and practice modes.

  • Developer: Guillermo Señas
  • Address: P.O. Box 1021, 39080 Santander, Spain
  • Contact: [email protected]
  • Website: https://acordle.com

3. Eligibility and Accounts

  • You should only use Acordle if you can validly accept these Terms under applicable law. If your local law requires parental or guardian permission, you must have that permission.
  • You may use Acordle anonymously or with an optional account (Apple, Google, Facebook, or email sign-in), but some features require authentication.
  • Features that currently require sign-in include cloud sync, leaderboards, account deletion, push notifications, the Full Version entitlement linked to your account, and Free Practice access/session restore.
  • If you use email sign-in, Acordle sends a one-time verification code to your email address. In the production database, Acordle stores a SHA-256 hash of the email rather than the plain-text email address.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity carried out through your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and not impersonate another person.

4. License to Use Acordle

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Acordle for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from any part of the app except where allowed by applicable law.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use cheats, bots, exploits, or automation that interfere with fair use or rankings.
  • Attempt unauthorized access to our systems, APIs, or other users' accounts.
  • Use the app for unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, or harmful activities.
  • Interfere with the app's security, integrity, or normal operation.

6. Gameplay Data, Rankings, and Account Deletion

  • Acordle stores gameplay and progression data to provide game features and leaderboards.
  • Signed-in users may create public shared-result links for eligible games and final ranking entries. Shared-result pages may display your nickname and summarized gameplay or ranking information, including score, rank, level, period, duration, streak, keys, completion/perfect status, and similar result details.
  • Shared-result links are public. Anyone with the link may view the page, and if the link is posted publicly it may be discovered, cached, previewed, or indexed by search engines and other crawlers.
  • Users may reset progress (where available) or request account deletion from app settings.
  • Upon account deletion, Acordle removes certain private data and clears some technical metadata from historical gameplay records, but it currently keeps some records to preserve rankings, prevent abuse, and maintain purchase/account integrity. This includes historical ranking/history records and a soft-deleted account record that preserves certain fields such as the nickname.
  • Because the nickname is preserved on the deleted account record, it may remain unavailable for reuse after deletion.
  • If you cannot access the app, you may also initiate a deletion request through our account deletion page.

7. Purchases and Billing

  • As of this effective date, Acordle offers a one-time non-consumable in-app purchase called "Full Version". It is not a subscription.
  • Payments are processed by the platform store provider (Apple App Store or Google Play), not directly by Acordle.
  • Restore, refund, cancellation, billing, and consumer-rights handling are governed by the relevant store provider's rules and applicable law.
  • Acordle verifies purchases server-side and may retain purchase verification records to enforce ownership, restore purchases, and prevent abuse.
  • We may change pricing or offerings prospectively, but changes will not retroactively affect already-confirmed purchases.

8. Advertising

The app may display ads to users who do not have the Full Version entitlement, including interstitial ads and an end-game banner. Ad behavior may depend on Google consent flow outcomes, applicable law, and platform or device settings. If consent is unavailable or the flow fails, the current implementation falls back to non-personalized ad requests.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, code, trademarks, logos, graphics, audio, game mechanics, and other materials in Acordle are owned by us or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Except for the limited license in Section 4, no rights are granted to you.

10. Third-Party Services

Acordle relies on third-party services (such as authentication, analytics, crash reporting, advertising, and payment services). Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms and policies.

11. Privacy

Your use of Acordle is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and process data.

12. Disclaimers

Acordle is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability.

We do not guarantee that the app will always be error-free, secure, or continuously available.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Acordle and its developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption arising from or related to your use of the app.

Where limitation of liability is not fully permitted, liability is limited to the minimum extent allowed by applicable law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Acordle and its developer from claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising out of your misuse of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law.

15. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to Acordle (in whole or in part) if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, abused the service, or created risk for users or the platform.

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it and, if desired, deleting your account through available settings.

16. Changes to Acordle or These Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of Acordle at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be published on this page with an updated effective date.

Your continued use of Acordle after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights that may apply in your country of residence.

Any dispute arising out of these Terms will be resolved by the competent courts under applicable law.
